What's Next:
WizCat For DOS 2.0 is currently on the design board and some of the features to
be added are listed below if you have other suggestions or know of any bugs in
WizCat For DOS Version 1.0 then please contact us.
1> Shelling from WizCat to the drive and directory where a file is located.
2> File Management Menu: This menu will feature commands for converting files
from one archive format to another, marking files for a series of commands,
extracting an archive to a specified drive and directory plus any others
we decide to add to this menu.
3> New archive formats will be added those planned for addition are ARJ, DWC and
ICE if you have others please send me a copy of the archiving program
complete with documentation and technical information.
4> I was going to fix the rude and crude comment editor before the release of
Version 1 but I have been working on this program for a year and a half now
and users are getting impatient for the release. I will fix this area in
between version 1 and 2 so look for a maintenance release soon.
5> The catalog format will change sometime between this version and 2.0 I am
planning to add Volume Serial Number support and a Media type to the catalog
these additions will be added to WizConvert when released. See Below.
6> WizConvert 1.0 will be included in the registered versions of WizCat For DOS.
This program will convert 1.0 files to 1.5 and 2.0 formats, convert WCC
(WizCat Catalog) files to dBase .DBF format and of course read .DBF files and
convert them to WCC.
7> Searchs will be done for DATES and FILESIZE fields.
8> Printer selection and support will be greatly improved between version 1 and
2
9> An improved interface is planned for 2.0. This is to be more consistant with
CUA standards of most programs on the market.
10> The error reporting and handling routines for the debug versions are going
to be added into the release versions. This is for assistance when calling
technical support.
11> Well I could go on for ever with what I want to add to this program so I
will end it with this final one and add others as the come in from the users
request.
WizCat For DOS 2.0 will come in two flavor's Text Mode and Graphical User
Interface Mode. This one addition is dependant on the end users desire to
see this addition so please if you do or do not want this type of feature
write to us at the address below.
